Diaper Bag Tutorial Sew-Along #2

Here we go! Prewash your fabrics as necessary. I am not prewashing my laminated cotton.

LOTS of cutting this week….

From the outer fabric:
-          1 back panel, 15” x 18”
-          2 side panels, 7” x 18”
-          2 side pockets, 7” x 9”
-          2 long straps, 3” x 35”
-          1 bottom, 7” x 15”
-          2 top pieces, 4” x 15”
-          1 front panel, 2-1/2” x 15”
-          1 solid color accent for front panel, 2-1/2” x 15”
-          1 front panel cut in a trapezoid; bottom width should be 15”, height should be 14”, and top width should be 17” (So you will cut up from the bottom at an angle on both sides)

From the lining fabric:
-          2 large inside panels, 15” x 18” (these will line the inside front and back)
-          2 large side panels, 7” x 18”
-          2 pieces inside pocket, 8” x 17”
-          2 pieces long inside pocket, 8” x 19”
-          1 bottom liner, 7” x 15”
-          4 inside side panel pockets, 8” x 9”
-          2 outside pocket liners, 7” x 9”
-          2 top inside liners, 4” x 15”
-          2 long strap liners, 3” x 35”

From the fusible fleece:
-          2 large panels, 15” x 18”
-          2 side panels, 7” x 18”
-          2 outside pocket pieces, 7” x 9”
-          1 bottom panel, 7” x 15”
-          2 top panels, 4” x 15”
-          2 long straps, 3” x 35”

From the interfacing:
-          1 large inside pocket, 8” x 17”
-          1 long inside pocket, 8” x 19”
-          2 inside side panel pockets, 8” x 9”

From the Peltex:
-          1 bottom liner, 14” x 6”

Once you have cut all of these pieces, iron to adhere the fusible fleece to the corresponding sized lining fabric pieces.

So, fuse the following:
-          2 large panels (FF) to 2 large panel (liner) (These pieces are all 15” x 18”.)
-          2 side panels (FF) to 2 side panels (liner) (These pieces are all 7” x 18”.)
-          2 outside pocket pieces (FF) to 2 outside pocket liners (These pieces are all 7” x 9”.)
-          1 bottom panel (FF) to 1 bottom liner (These pieces are all 7” x 15”.)
-          2 top panels (FF) to 2 top panel liners (These pieces are all 4” x 15”.)
-          2 long straps (FF) to 2 long strap liners (These pieces are all 3” x 35”.)

Do you think it’s a lot of work yet? J

That’s all for this week.
